Benefits of Meditation
The benefits of meditation … this is why a person would meditate, correct? Well, some don’t believe it’s about the benefits, they believe that the benefits are just the icing on the cake.
But knowing the natural benefits of meditation can be exactly what you need to get started. Then you will not be concerned with what meditation gives you, meditation will simply be a part of your life. Just as a dancer does not dance (a true one anyway) for money or approval, but for the joy of dancing, because they are a dancer. But if a little money and approval comes along with it, all the better.
3 Benefits of Meditation
1. Focus on Your Breath
The first benefit of meditation is curing shallow breathing. No need to breathe deeper, just focus on your breath, it will deepen on its own … sometimes a thing just needs a little attention and then it fixes itself. Your breath is your life; good breathing will cure all kinds of ailments.
2. Reduce Stress
The second benefit of meditation is stress reduction. Stress comes from thoughts, from your ideas about what is happening or not happening in your life. Meditation is not what you think. Meditation is about focusing your attention on your heart, your breath, your body, or even meditation music. You don’t have to stop thinking, that is not what it’s about. Just turn your focus on something other that your thoughts.
3. Reverence of Life
The third benefit of meditation is reverence for life. When you meditate, you are doing something for yourself. You are taking time for yourself when the world is telling you you should be working or cleaning or taking care of someone else. This is a statement of your importance. And the more your meditate the more that will grow. Remember, good things come not to good people, but to people who feel good about themselves.
There are many books and websites out there to help you with meditation techniques. But don’t get addicted to the learning, allow the learning to facilitate the doing. It’s more important to sit then to read about sitting … if you read too much about it you will find that when you do sit that sentences from books are rollin gin your head and you wonder if you are doing it right and then without even realizing it, you are once again focused on your thoughts.
The benefits of meditation are beyond physical and extend into the transcendent. They allow you to escape the struggles of your mind and relax. This allows your body to regenerate and heal from anything that may ail it.

Stop Meditating and Get On With Your Life
